This is one of many short video segments which will be added to the Digital Tipping Point (DTP) archive. This series of two video segments features Jin Sato, a research scientist with the Advanced Industrial Science and Technology Institute of Japan. It has been said of Jin, and rightly so, that you can't help but smile after being in Jin's presence for only 5 minutes. So check yourself, because I bet that within three minutes of watching Jin's video, you too will be smiling. It's just infectious with Jin.
The really remarkable thing about Jin's work is that his work is not about technology or robots at all. He really wants to help us humans understand ourselves. Robots are merely the means that he uses to do that. These two short videos might do more in a shorter time span to convey the meaning of the Digital Tipping Point than any other given segment of footage. It's all here. Jin talks about independence, the humanity of coding, and the way that our code and our technology both shapes us and reflects how we perceive ourselves and other people around us.
